Meet The Team
Charisma Muir-Powell, MFTA
“My approach to therapy is collaborative, relational, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I draw from several modalities, including Structural, Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral, Attachment-Based, Strategic, and Solution-Focused therapies, to help clients understand both the patterns they’re experiencing and the context those patterns come from. A big part of my work involves helping individuals, couples, and families recognize and shift unhealthy relational dynamics, especially those rooted in generational patterns or past experiences.
I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship because I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, seen, and not judged. As a Caribbean LGBTQ+ therapist, I’m also very mindful of the cultural and identity-based experiences my clients bring into the room, and I aim to create a space where those parts of them are fully acknowledged and respected.
What I love most about being a therapist is witnessing growth, whether it’s a client gaining insight, setting a boundary for the first time, or a couple learning how to communicate in a healthier way. I really value being part of that process and supporting clients as they move toward the kind of relationships and life they want for themselves.”
